Module 4 — House Wash: Bundles That Sell (Lesson)

What you’re doing today

You’re going to learn how to sell a house wash like a pro: as an exterior refresh, not a pile of line items.

Why this matters

Bundles increase ticket size without feeling pushy — if you can show proof and set expectations.

Tools & materials (minimum viable)

  • Proof Pack photos (before/after)
  • A simple bundle menu (3 options)
  • A default application lane you can explain simply:
    • DS is the recommended baseline for most house wash work
    • 12V can work to start, but it’s not the endgame for most operators

The easy bundles (start here)

  • House wash + windows
  • House wash + gutters
  • House wash + flatwork
  • House wash + roof wash (when it’s clearly needed)

HOA note: in a lot of neighborhoods, roof cleanliness is enforced. If you see a dirty roof, don’t ignore it — mention it professionally as a separate service.

Step-by-step: how to present bundles (foreman script)

  1. Start with the result: “Full exterior refresh.”
  2. Show 1–2 before/after examples (Proof Pack).
  3. Offer 3 options:
    • Good: House wash
    • Better: House wash + one add-on
    • Best: House wash + multiple add-ons
  4. Set one expectation up front (stains/oxidation/hard-water).
  5. Confirm scope in one sentence.

Decision points

  • If the customer is price-sensitive:

    • keep the bundle, adjust scope (not quality).
  • If there’s oxidation risk:

    • do not promise restoration; document exceptions.
  • If you’re tempted to buy a new tool to “close the job”:

    • sanity check it: would that money be better spent on leads this week?
    • rent what you can’t afford yet; graduate your equipment as the work proves itself

Common mistakes + fixes

  • Selling “pressure washing” as the product
    • Fix: sell the outcome + protection + consistency.
  • Bundling without proof
    • Fix: Proof Pack first, bundles second.

What good looks like

  • Customer can repeat back what’s included.
  • You have proof to back up the upsell.

How to prove it (Proof Pack)

  • Before/after of the primary service
  • 1 before/after of the add-on you’re recommending

Do this next (assignment)

  • Write a 3-tier bundle menu for house wash.
  • Pick 3 Proof Pack examples you’ll use to sell bundles.
